Michael Martinez lends his soulful smokey voice and considerable musicianship to his passion for Brasilian and American Jazz. His songbook contains an expansive range of Brasilian composers like Jobim, João Gilberto, Ivan Lins, Caetano Veloso, Djavan, and Milton Nascimento, interspersed with American Jazz standards. Above and beyond the Jazz genres he also brings American and British Soul, Funk, Blues and Folk into the mix which makes him a rather unique artist with considerable range. As he describes it, "There is a song for every occasion, and I have no musical boundaries. I perform material that means something to me deeply...". And that passion is born out on stage as he endeavors to delight his audiences.
