Samaroli Single-Malt Scotch Tasting Tasting
In the 1960s, the Italian company Samaroli became the first non-British independent Scotch bottler. Samaroli pioneered the technique of selecting single casks and then re-casking them into different kinds of barrels. In the late 1970s, Samaroli added rum to their repertoire and began sourcing from the Caribbean and South America, with the rum matured and bottled in Scotland.
Samaroli makes unique products that are new to this market, and we're hosting their National Brand Ambassador Chris Bittner to pour a selection of their single-cask single malts, including:
Samaroli Tormore 1995
Samaroli Macduff Sherry 1997
Samaroli Fettercairn 1995
Samaroli Ledaig 1997
Samaroli Bunnahabhain 1988
We'll also pour one of their nicely aged rums, so you can experience their other major bottling endeavor.
This tasting is strictly limited to 12 participants, and all are being personally invited. The tasting costs $50 for samples of the above plus the rum, and light appetizers will be served.
The Samaroli whiskies and rums are available to purchase at local specialty spirits stores, at The Barrel Thief to put in our vault, and possibly on The Barrel Thief's whiskey menu, in the near future. Matt Harvey from their local distributor (Prime Spirits) will be on hand to answer questions about availability of these neat bottles.
The tasting is in The Barrel Thief's Barrel Room, and will begin at 6:30pm sharp; please feel free to arrive anytime 6:00pm or later (or earlier, if you want to hang out in the bar and warm up!)
