Aida, set in ancient Egypt, is a high-stakes love triangle between two rival princesses and a conflicted military commander. One of the most famous and beloved operas, it contains iconic arias such as Celeste Aida, Ritorna vincitor, O patria mia, and the famous triumphal march. It is a deeply moving story of passionate love, thundering vengeance and heart-breaking sacrifice. Normally Aida is presented on a huge stage and filled with grand spectacle. Verismo Operas production will be in a smaller setting that offers the opportunity to really explore the more intimate aspects of the love story and place more emphasis on the glorious music.
