Warren Nelson has put the lyrical writings of Sigurd into song, illustrated with historic and contemporary photos. It is a tribute evening to the late Sigurd Olson, one of Americas great conservationists of the 20th century. I took Sigs lyrical writings and put them to song, you know the songwriting team of Olson and Nelson. The show includes readings from Olsons books, accompanied by beautiful photos taken from throughout his life and the wildness he beloved. His crowning achievement was leading the efforts to have the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) preserved as a wilderness.
The show features the incredible talents of Warren Nelson, Jack Gunderson, Otis McLennon, Randy Sabien, Ed Willett and Betty Ferris.
The venue is the Harbor View Event Center, located on the shores of Lake Superior overlooking the Washburn Marina. Convenient free parking, historic bar, with food available. The Harbor View Event Center is all on ground level and handicapped accessible, a wonderful place to enjoy a concert.
