The Laramie Project
This black box performance of The Laramie Project is based on the true story of the hate crime committed against Matthew Shepherd, a college student in Laramie, Wyoming. Tectonic Theatre Company's model for how theatre can affect change comes to life in this play as actors portray theatre members who interviewed residents of Laramie, Wyoming about the murder of this student who identified as a member of the LGBTQ community as well as the interviewees themselves. The play is a collection of the interviews, verbatimly presented for the audience to understand all sides of the issue and see culture straight through the words of a town's residents, including its clergy, the murderers, police, college professors and more.
Because the play presents the interviews verbatim, some language is strong and may be difficult for some viewers.
Seating is limited. Reservations are encouraged.
