The Tradition of Stiltwalking in Colombia: Slide Show, Contemporary Andean Music and a Verbo-Bala Sonidero Dance Party (Cumbia!)
The Tradition of Stiltwalking in Colombia: Slide Show, Contemporary Andean Music and a Verbo-Bala Sonidero Dance Party (Cumbia!) Sat. Sept 28, 7:30 pm
The Bi Cultural Road Show expands the understanding and appreciation of Latin Culture beyond the Mexican border by being a living display of creative co-existence that includes presenting each participating company's repertory performances, sharing two slide show lectures and conducting a residency program entitled The Open Society Project that engages students and artists from the different communities visited by the Bi Cultural Road Show.
In Peñasco, the Bi Cultural Road Show will be presenting "Landscape Reinvention Society" from Nemcatacoa Teatro, a site flexible acrostilt performance plus Contemporary Andean Music from the musical trio, Hojarasca, and a Cumbia Dance party from VerboBala to cap off the evening.
Don't miss the newest acrostilt performance, "Callings", from The Carpetbag Brigade and be sure to look for "Dios de la Adrenalina" which incorporates all the groups in the roadshow. Both will be in Santa Fe the first weekend of October.
Check out "Sonoran Strange" from VerboBala at Taos Mesa Brewing on the 27th of September.
