Metolius: Matt Meighan, Halelupe, Dale Jones & Richey Bellinger
Four Portland singer-songwriters join forces! Richey, Dale, HaleLupe and Matt will play as a band, providing instrumental and vocal accompaniment to one another's songs.
Matt Meighan has taught Songwriting as Truth-Telling at Artichoke since 2009 and is co-founder and host of the Hidden River Songwriting Camp. Drawing on his years as an activist, journalist, parent and poet, Matt writes tradition-steeped songs that are at turns personal, political, poignant and funny.
Halelupe is a native Oregonian and a singer-songwriter. She grew up in a big Portland family with music all around her. Halelupe sings about the heart of things those things which fly under the radar, yet yearn for expression. Her songs are meant to reflect the rewards and challenges of choosing the path with a heart and to provide succor and inspiration along the way.
Richey Bellinger has been playing his guitar and writing songs for close to 45 years. His songs are thoughtful, personal, stories of love and longing, accompanied by sweet fingerpicking guitar style. He just released his fourth solo album of acoustic music titled, The Well Is For Water.
Dale Jones is a life long song-writer, listener, chord wrangler, class clown, and Portland music enthusiast. A chaser of poetry, wonder, spectacle, and a witless witness of the absurd. I've reached the conclusion that one plus one adds up to so much more than two when you add a bass. Lets play . . .
