Heres the perfect Members-only preview of our upcoming concert partnership with Karamu, "The Impact of Shuffle Along" (February 7-10).
One of our favorite Song Is You! artists, jazz pianist Joe Hunter, will be joined by Bill Rudman and a second pianist, George Foley, who's an expert on ragtime. Thats the exuberant jazz that Shuffles great composer, Eubie Blake, helped to pioneer in the early 20th century.
The two pianists will talk about the difference between ragtime and the more contemporary jazz that swings. And you'll hear it for yourself! The conversation will blend with performances by these two acclaimed Cleveland artists, and we guarantee youll be tapping your toes to the infectious rhythms.
