BARE: A Pop Opera Produced by The Honest Collective
The Honest Collective is proud to present BARE: A Pop Opera by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabolo. Bare: A Pop Opera is a coming-of-age musical that follows a group of teens as they wrestle with their identities, sexuality, religion, and even a little bit of Shakespeare, in a co-ed Catholic boarding school. This musical presents an incredibly relevant story in Alberta's cultural and political climate, with impactful themes such as peer and family rejection, acceptance, and what it means to be yourself.
This show is not only a powerful story that everyone can enjoy, but it is also an incredible platform for local emerging artists to tell relevant stories and practice their craft. In light of the relevance of this piece, we are looking to invite various Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) to further empower community building within the arts, queer, Calgary community as a whole through the medium of musical theatre.
