Sharing economy has changed the way we live, all the way from ride-sharing with Uber and Lyft to accommodation & vacation sharing through Airbnb and VRBO. It is now expanding to surprisingly new areas. In this session, you will hear from leading industry experts about the trends in this space and discuss the technology which is enabling it. The speakers will also discuss career opportunities in this exciting industry.

Kapil Gupta , Head of Data Science, Experiences at Airbnb
Kapil Gupta is a data science leader at Airbnb in San Francisco. He leads the data science team focussed on launching new travel verticals like experiences and establishing Airbnb as an end to end travel platform. At Airbnb, he has worked on many challenging machine learning and personalization problems arising in search, pricing, and risk. Prior to Airbnb, he has worked at PayPal and Duff & Phelps. He holds Ph.D. in Operations Research from Georgia Tech and B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India.
Ashish Gupta, Chief Credit Officer, Prosper Marketplace
As Chief Credit Officer at Prosper Marketplace, Ashish oversees all elements of Prospers credit strategy, including pricing, underwriting strategy, verification strategy, loss-forecasting, model development, model governance and credit risk aspects of new product development. Ashish joined Prosper in 2017.
Before joining Prosper, he spent more than 10 years at Citi in senior credit risk strategy positions, spanning across new customer acquisition, portfolio management and model development. In his most recent role as the Director of Risk Management at Citi, Ashish managed loss forecasting, comprehensive capital analysis and review (CCAR) stress testing, and collections oversight functions for $43 Billion credit cards portfolio. Prior to Citi, Ashish worked at Fair Isaac (FICO) and led credit card fraud analytics for US and International Banks.
Ashish has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
Amrit Sinha, Global Supply Chain and Business Operations, at Uber
Amrit works in the Global Supply Chain and Biz Ops at Uber supporting Autonomous Vehicles, Data Centers and Micro-mobility (Bikes/Scooters) groups.
Amrit has a PhD from the MIT, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School, and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
