"The Rites of Conscious Dance" weaves lightly guided movement with music and sometimes silence, interspersing story sharing in dyads and larger circle. It includes a process called This Is Me, where inquiry into the physical sensations of shape shifting informs inquiry into personal desire, intention and passionate interest(s) regarding our theme of community building. Reflection and witnessing ground the process.
A lot of us are carrying a deep longing, a yearning for community, while we simultaneously resist belonging, being received and merging with tribe. What is it? How? Why? Potent material for these times, when we need each other so much

This event is intended as a community gathering to strengthen our relationships and understanding. We are not selling a workshop. We wish to make this available to all regardless of ability or even willingness to pay. We need as much of the community present as possible.
At the same time, we face the challenge of providing equitable compensation for the facilitators and other resources it takes to support the event. We ask that you take a moment to consider what you can contribute to this endeavor - whether above or below the fair value ticket price listed.
This is your vote on whether the community wishes to support this series of innovative community building gatherings in a sustainable manner.
We encourage those of us who are able to leverage more $ in the larger economy to contribute more than the stated value in order to balance those who face economic barriers and whose livelihoods are undervalued in our market economy (Lets honor the value of the work our facilitators are doing!)
Note: the organizers of this event will not receive pay for their work, and have fronted $500 to pay for the studio space. Revenue above $2000 will be divided between Dance Collective Northwest and Fred Sugerman.
Please let us know if there are any barriers to your attending we can help with. Childcare will be provided.
