Pete Donnelly
Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Pete Donnelly returns to The Living Room with his trio. He'll be accompanied by John Cunningham on bass and Fred Berman on drums.
Donnelly is the founder of power-pop legends The Figgs. In addition, he has performed with Terry Adams' reformed NRBQ, Soul Asylum, Tommy Stinson, Mike Viola and the Candy Butchers among others.
Donnelly released his album "Phases of the Moon" in 2018. The album is somewhat of a departure for Donnelly, who is best known as a rock/pop artist. In addition to the expected pop songs are jazz instrumentals, including renditions of tunes by Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, Erik Satie, Claude Debussy and Oscar Pettiford.
Says David Greenberger of NPR: "Pete Donnelly is one of those rare musicians. He finds the core believability in any music he plays, allowing his own rich and supple compositions to stand shoulder to shoulder with Monk and Satie. There's an organic quality to Donnelly's approach to shaping a full album experience. Free of artifice or irony, rocking numbers nestle alongside jazz and it all flows as one thoughtfully emotive work."
In addition to performing and recording his own projects, Donnelly is the proprietor of Westmont Station Recording Studio in Collingswood, NJ. He has collaborated with a diverse array of artists including Carsie Blanton, Jeffrey Gaines, John Legend, Shelby Lynne and Graham Parker.
