MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: FAYE B SUMMERS in "SPARROW'S DIARY: EDITH PIAF TELLS IT ALL"
A cabaret based on the life of Edith Piaf, written and performed by Faye B Summers with musical arrangements and new English translations by John Engerman.
ABOUT FAYE B SUMMERS
Faye B Summers has performed in Seattle and nationally for many decades. She has appeared in most of Seattle's theatre venues and has been singing and portraying Edith Piaf for over 30 years. Also an experienced writer/editor, her one-woman show Kicking the Hat was premiered by Seattle's ArtsWest Playhouse. Her collaboration with John Engerman began in 1980 and his new English translations of Piaf favorites take the relationship to a new and exciting level.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: THE SIRENS OF SWING in "MARCH OF DAMES"
Join these belles from Bleema as they sing and swing their way into spring, featuring sparkling new arrangements and side-splitting tales from the old country.
ABOUT THE SIRENS OF SWING
The Sirens of Swing features three of Seattle's cabaret luminaries - Karen Kay Cody, Joanne Klein and Jayne Muirhead - with music direction by John Engerman. First produced in the '90s, their tributes to the infectious sounds of classic vocal trios such as the Boswell Sisters and the Andrews Sisters were hit shows at the Cabaret de Paris. With lush harmonies and jive rhythms, they take audiences on a musical journey back to the 1930s and '40s full of sass and romance. Additional original arrangements of tunes such as "Moonglow" and "Sheik of Araby" make this a musical evening to remember.
MARCH IS CABARET MONTH Presents: MAUREEN MERSHON in "REBEL GIRL"
Scandalous? Scintillating? Droll? Driven by songs written and/or performed by rebels, "Rebel Girl" is a touching and funny show performed by Maureen Mershon and musically directed by DJ Wilson.
ABOUT MAUREEN MERSHON
Maureen "Mo" Mershon is a Seattle performer, working director, and acting teacher. Mo has worked onstage since age eight. In addition to stage work, Mo has written two plays, several cabaret shows, and a documentary on her acting mentor which she also produced and directed.
