Tumbling Bones
Tumbling Bones are relative newcomers to the thriving Portland bluegrass and roots music scene. They've quickly established themselves as the band that "emphasize[s] their vocals most of anyone locally in the stringband subset" (Portland Phoenix, August 2012) featuring regular three-part harmony over a mix of ancient folk ballads, gospel shouts, bluegrass standards, and indie-tinged original compositions. Straight off a month long tour of Ireland this May and June, the band will be playing a string of Maine dates this summer including a stop at Mayo Street Arts Saturday, July 20th.
They will be sharing the stage at Mayo Street with The Aroostook Hillbillies, a comedic pop-country project of former Over a Cardboard Sea front man Tim Findlen.
