Billy King & Friends with Chris Good at Johnny's Speakeasy
Local singer-songwriters/multi-instrumentalists/organic farmers Billy King & Chris Good join forces for a special wintry night of homegrown music at Johnny's Speakeasy.
As a seasoned performer, songwriter, and recording artist, Billy King's presence in the independent music scene brings an original blend of rootsy folk/pop with an occasional touch of country swing.
Billys versatility as a multi-genre singer-songwriter is matched by his ability on a wide range of instruments from guitar and banjo to keyboards and accordion.
Influenced by master songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon, Billy crafts melodically compelling songs that maintain a sense of the timeless and classic. Sometimes catchy folk/rock, sometimes searing blues, but always direct and thoughtful lyrics - this is original music from an original life, fully accomplished yet humble, and most of all real.
Joining Billy fresh off of a tour to New Orleans will be the hotshot band of Jordan Ade, Ryan Shea, Donya Kiana , Mark & Carol Palms.
Chris Good is an Ann Arbor, MI based singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, activist, and organic vegetable farmer. Drawing inspiration from soul, folk, funk, and west african music, Good mixes an eclectic sound full of positivity & spirit-filled energy with poignant, humorous and engaging lyrics.
Recent years have seen Chris launch the new project Friends with the Weather with longtime collaborators Seth Hendricks & David Hupp. Friends with the Weather released it's debut album in Fall 2016 as part of the Earthwork Music Collective. Chris also occasionally performs as a solo artist as well as with his ever rotating cast of Ann Arbor based bandmates under the name Chris Good & The Sweet Insurrection.
First show at Johnnys to kick off the new year.

This show will require using the shuttle service provided by Johnnys Speakeasy to and from the show.
Please drop your passenger(s) off at Johnnys where they can secure seats; then drive back to Plum Market and wait for the shuttle back.
Plum Market is located in the Maple Village Shopping Center at the corner of Maple & Dexter.
