Lux Aeterna at Grace Cathedral
A work to behold, don't miss John Rutter's enchanting "Requiem" performed by the Masterwork Festival Chorus, professional orchestra and soprano soloist, led by conductor Sandra Snow at San Francisco's majestic Grace Cathedral.
Rutters riveting Requiem is a seven-movement musical adaption of the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass, beginning with the Requiem and ending with Lux aeterna, using Latin text, as well as English, throughout the mass.
Conductor Sandra Snow currently holds appointments in conducting and music education at Michigan State University College of Music, where she conducts the Michigan State University Women's Chorale, an ensemble that has appeared at consecutive conferences of the American Choral Directors Association. She conducts All-State and honor choirs across the United States, including the 2012 MENC National Honor Choir at the Kennedy Center and was the principal guest conductor of the 2012 Crossroads Children's Choir Festival. She regularly presents at state conferences, headlining sessions for the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education.
The concert will also feature a wonderful selection of choral works performed by Raymond J. Fisher Middle School Advanced Choir conducted by Lauren Diez.
