Danny Barnes and Gideon Freudmann
As a Texas native and one of bluegrass musics most distinctive and innovative performers, Barnes is known for blending together different sounds in order to defy labeling. His desire to pick up the banjo stemmed from a Grandpa Jones and Stringbean concert he attended as a child. Moved by the performance, Barnes was first inspired to learn how to play the banjo at age ten. He continued his musical endeavors at the University of Texas, where he focused his studies on audio production and discovered his passion for recording music. https://dannybarnes.com/
Gideon Freudmann plays the cello and writes songs. He likes to plays pretty melodies and also unusual sounds. The cello is just grand. It sounds even better with a banjo. In all seriousness, Gideon Freudmann is a composer, performer and cello innovator. He has created a style of playing he calls cello bop, which combines the best of electric music and his decades of experience as a cellist. He writes music for film, theater and dance. He is a founding member of the Portland Cello Project, a TEDtalk speaker, contributor to NPR and This American Life, has performed in Europe, Australia and Taiwan. www.cellobop.com https://www.pbs.org/video/oregon-art-beat-cellist-gideon-freudmann/
