Hey, we should...
Hey, we should... Presented by the ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn, NY, "Hey, we should..." is a collaborative show featuring the work of high-caliber, Brooklyn-based dance choreographers and musicians:
Nicole Sabella From Clearwater, FL, Nicole studied at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School and The Academy of Ballet Arts. In 2009, Nicole graduated with honors and the "Outstanding Performance in Modern Dance" Award from the University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA), earning her BFA in Modern Dance Performance. Nicole was a soloist in Zane Booker's Smoke, Lilies, and Jade Arts Initiative (SLJ) based in Philadelphia 2006-2011, and also became the Assistant to the director in 2009. Nicole has performed with Kelly Turner's Choreosplat Dance Works, Vince Johnson's illReality Entertainment Group, and Teresa Fellion/Body Stories. She has choreographed works for Michael Susten's Xhale Dance Company, illReality's STEW Event, and Zane Booker's SLJ. Nicole is looking forward to the many more creative experiences to come. Currently, Nicole is working as a free-lance artist in New York City.
Jessie Stinnett Upon graduating from The Boston Conservatory in 2009, Jessie moved to Paris, France where she danced for the Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Chile, Gigi Caciuleanu. In the summer of 2010 she acted as the International Liason for Kazuko Hirabayashi's Dance New York International, working with Wilfried Romoli, former star of The Paris Opera, and Koji Minato of The Cunningham Company. She then joined Dansgroep Amsterdam, home to choreographers Krisztina de Chatel and Itzik Galili before returning to the US to join Prometheus Dance. She has also performed for Anna Myer and Dancers, Rebecca Rice, The Boston Baroque Opera, and most recently at Bard College's Summer Scape Festival in the production Le Roi Malgre Lui, choreographed by former Mark Morris dancer Marjorie Folkman. She is currently working with Heidi Latsky Dance and freelancing in NYC. www.jessiestinnett.com
Sharyn Korey Originally from Croton-on-Hudson, NY, studied dance at Logrea Dance Academy in Ossining, NY. She performed with Richmond Ballet in Coppelia, Serenade, the Nutcracker and The Scarlet Letter and in 2007 graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with a degree in International Studies. Since moving to NYC, she has danced with Murray Spalding Mandalas, Sydnie Mosley Dances, Dance Visions, and Tango 5 Sentidos. She is also a co-founder of Nachmo, an annual choreography challenge and showcase. In addition to performing, she enjoys teaching dance to children and teens.
