Storytelling: The Art of Crafting Fiction is an introduction to creative writing that is appropriate for all levels; it's for anyone who wishes to pursue writing as a creative outlet. Although the focus is fiction writing this class will also be helpful to the creative non-fiction writer, as we will address topics pertinent to all forms of creative writing. Class hours will be spent sharing information, ideas and writing. Each month will feature a different guest instructor.
About January's Instructor: Tara Quellhorst was born and raised in the tiny Central Florida town of Dunnellon. Surrounded by the inspiring backdrop of rivers and wildlife, she began a deep love affair with all things art. From acting out plays with imaginary friends in the woods, to writing stories about frogs, snakes and butterflies, Taras love for story grew. At the young age of 14, Tara fell head over heels for the theatre, and never looked back. With a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance from USF, Tara has performed professionally all over the state of Florida, appeared in over 50 local and national commercials, been heard in countless radio commercials, and was the Director of Theatre for a local school for the past seven years. Along with acting, she writes a blog called High On Faith And Coffee, a collection of spiritual essays that candidly discusses the highs and lows of going through the process of adopting her son. Tara has been an active student of Keep St. Pete Lit for two years and is excited to teach a class that combines her love of theatre and writing.
