Bread Riot - 2019 Asheville Fringe Arts Festival
Bread Riot is an irreverent dark comedy that is playful yet ruthless, lampooning the rich, the powerful, and the beautiful. It is an ensemble-created production of the powerless who, in a devastated world, can only ridicule the wickedness of the powerful. Borrowing inspiration from the bouffon gang-of-clowns tradition, the ensemble employs movement, sound, stylized dialogue and cartoonish slapstick to call out the grotesque absurdity of the present.
