Jovan Quallo Live In the Jazz Cave
The Nashville Jazz Workshop is delighted to welcome saxophonist Jovan Quallo to the Jazz Cave to kick off 2019's performance series Friday, January 18 at 8pm.

Originally from Boston, MA, Jovan Quallo graduated from MTSU with a degree in music education in 2013 and now calls Nashville home. Since college hes become an accomplished, in-demand saxophonist in Nashvilles diverse music scene.

Jovan's performing career has taken him across the U.S., Central America, Asia, and Europe. He has performed or toured with nationally acclaimed artists such as Jake Owen, Meghan Trainor, Cece Winans, MercyMe, Brett Eldredge, Reba McIntyre, Dan + Shay, Martina McBride, Jeff Coffin, Larry Carlton, Boyz II Men, Charlie Wilson, Ronnie Milsap, Allen Stone, Irma Thomas, Lee Fields, Eric Krasno, Alecia Chakour, The Shadowboxers, and many others.

Jovan is also a member of the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, the Music City Big Band, and the Tennessee Jazz Collective.

Jovan has recorded with the likes of Mike Farris, Jake Owen, and Keb Mo and has played on several major recordings, including Owens American Love and Greatest Hits and Keb Mos triple Grammy nominee Blues Americana and Grammy winner Taj Mo."

An advocate of music education, Jovan maintains his own private woodwind studio of 35+ middle and high school students in Nashville and the surrounding areas.  

This will be Jovan's first appearance in the Jazz Cave as a leader, and we're excited to be able to present this rising star! Joining Jovan for the concert will be Ian Miller (piano), James DaSilva (guitar), Jonathan Wires (bass), and Marcus Finnie (drums).


There will be two sets beginning at 8:00 pm in the Jazz Cave at the Workshop. Admission is $25 / $15 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday January 7 at 10AM and will be available online on this page, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.

Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones. Audio and video recording is prohibited. Ticket sales are final.


The Nashville Jazz Workshop is a nonprofit organization offering classes for all ages, instruments, and levels, public performances, and special events for the community. The Jazz Workshop is located in the Neuhoff Complex at the end of Monroe Street in East Germantown.
