WHIMSY: AN EVENING WITH PETRA ZANKI
Together with distinguished artists from our community Petra invites you to her first fundraiser on February 10th at the Jewel Box Theater! Join us in raising $15,000 towards finalizing Pleasant Place performance into an evening length work, and towards our 2019 season, in a night of great food, philanthropy, and performances. The program includes excerpts from Petra's upcoming show, Pleasant Place and her work from October, Freight. Also get excited for unique artworks being offered at the silent auction, and guest performances by Lorraine Lau, Jaclyn Mason, Sruti Desai, Rafael Howell Flores, Hendri Walujo, Madeline Morser, Prasti Purdum, Micaela Gonzales + special guests!

Petra Zanki is Seattles award-winning Croatian-American choreographer who presented works across US, Europe, Canada, UK, and Australia. In the US, she presented works in Seattle, New York, and New Orleans, among which at Velocity Dance Center, On the Boards, Seattle International Dance Festival, 12 Ave Arts/Washington Ensemble Theatre, Base, Movement Research at Judson Church, Coil Festival /PS122, Wow Café Theatre, and La Mama. Petra has received following residencies awards: bst residency from The University of Washington School of Dance, IMP series at the Velocity Dance Center, Base Residencies at 2017, and 2018, James Ray Residency 2018 and was nominated for the NEA Creativity Connects Fellowship and James Ray Venture Project Awards in 2018. Growing up in Croatia during the war, Petras main interest remains transformation of pain into landscapes of beauty for the benefit of humanity.
