Rebirth Brass Band (Grammy winners)
The Rebirth Brass Band has continued its innovative approach to New Orleans music.
"Speaking of culturally relevant entertainment at The Seasons, The Rebirth Brass Band is coming back to the venue this spring. The March 14 show will mark the third Yakima appearance by the hugely influential New Orleans brass band since 2014. And Im definitely not sick of them yet. The previous two shows were my kind of parties music that expresses the full spectrum of emotion while also getting people up and moving. Id go see them every week if I could..." Pat Muir in the Yakima Herald
They won the Grammy Award in 2012 for the album "Rebirth of New Orleans." In 2014 "Move Your Body" was released on Basin Street Records and immediately hit #1and had an extended stay at the top of both the CMJ & Jazz Week Radio charts.
Whether seen on HBO's "Treme" or at their legendary Tuesday night gig at The Maple Leaf, Rebirth Brass Band is a true New Orleans institution. Formed in 1983 by the Frazier brothers, the band has evolved from playing the streets of the French Quarter to playing festivals and stages all over the world.
While committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands, they also extended into the realms of funk and hip hop to create their signature soul moving sound. Their signature brand of heavy funk has not only won over several generations of music lovers, it has become the soundtrack to an entire city.
