Peter Gallway
Peter Gallway is one of the most popular and respected musical figures on the Maine music scene. Called a master of free verse in the Boston Globe, he has released more than twenty-five albums on the Warner/Reprise and various independent labels. Along with The Real Band-Andrea Re (Jackson Brown, Garland Jeffries) on vocals and percussion and Mark Wainer (Berklee College of Music) on lead guitar-they have crisscrossed the region as one of the most popular and hardest-working live bands in New England. Gallway has produced many other local artists, most notably albums by Devonsquare and Aztec Two Step, as well as, the Grammy nominated Bleecker Street: Greenwich Village in the 60s, Time and Love: The Music of Laura Nyro, and participated in Laura Nyros final album, Angel In the Dark. He has had his music featured in film and theater-including the Maine Festival and Portland Stage Company-and has had songs performed and recorded by Bette Midler, Kenny Rogers, Cliff Eberhardt, Bread & Butter, Kalapana and others.
Red Beans & Rice
Red Beans & Rice is a loose affiliation of two a (mostly) acoustic duo playing an entertaining and engaging mix of blues, old and new. Mr. Rice (Carter Ruff) plays slide guitar and has been known to howl at the moon. "Red" Beans (Dave Hunt) is a gentler fellow with a touch on the guitar that is sweetly complex, and a voice as smooth as butter on a slow burn.
