Comedy at the Grove with Derik Zoo
Comedy at the Grove is back for another great line up to start off the New Year! Join us for a night full of laughs as the very funny Derik Zoo returns to the Grove. Also featuring is veteran J Lamarr along with your evening host Jared Pearce from Knoxville! As always the doors are open at 7:00 PM and show starts at 8:00 PM. You must be 18 to enter. *Concessions will be available for purchase in the lobby.
Derik Zoo Headliner
Charismatic and engaging, Derik Zoo loves talking to people. Whether its about his childhood growing up with an Iranian father and Yankee-born, Southern Mother, to relationships, or even just with the audience, Derik leaves you laughing the entire time. Hes been in critically acclaimed independent films such as Bethlehem and Guilt/Girl, and youve probably seen him on ABC/CMTs Nashville. Hes currently entertaining hundreds of thousands as the lovable Skeeter at Dolly Partons Stampede. His first book Do the Damn Thing will be available on DerikZoo.com this spring.
J Lamarr Featuring
A military veteran, J Lamarr is an up and coming comedian/writer from the central Tennessee area with amazing upside. His comedic influences include Kevin Hart, Robin Williams, Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence. Raised in a single parent home - he's been finding ways to make people laugh since the age of 6. Now a father, J Lamarr shares his experiences in venues such as Zanies in Nashville, colleges and churches. Make sure you come out and experience the "Humor of an Odd Black Guy" - J Lamarr!
Jared Pearce Host
Jared Pearce has been performing comedy since early 2018. Jared uses his years in retail and life growing up in Knoxville, Tn. to share a unique view of the world. Jared made his performance debut at the Historic Grove Theater in Oak Ridge, Tn. He has performed in the Comedy Showcase and Big Hair! Extravaganza at The Birdhouse, Hex Yeah! and Haunted Barrel Halloween Variety Show at Hexagon Brewing, and Soulful Sunday at 35&Ticking, in Knoxville, Tn. as well as guest-hosting the Open Door Comedy open-mic at Scruffy City Hall and Fourth and Gill Friday at Sassy Anns. He also played in numerous guest performances with Einsteins Simplified Improv Group. Comedian and Producer Beth Tomkins says "Jared's wry observations and absurdist setups are a refreshing remedy to life's mundanities." Jared is currently scheduling a tour for the summer 2019.
