THE HOBBIT Live at Patchwork Theater
This Holiday Season the Patchwork Theatre of Niagara will take your family on an exciting adventure through middle earth with the magical adventure The Hobbit, based on the book by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Bilbo Baggins is a Hobbit who loves comfort and contentment until he is visited by Gandalf the wizard and a troupe of dwarves who send him on the adventure of a lifetime to fight a dragon and reclaim a lost kingdom. Along the way Bilbo meets Trolls, Elves, Goblins and the repulsive Gollum whose action set into motion the events of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The play, featuring the Patchwork Theatre;s largest cast to date, is narrated by Bilbo's nephew Frodo (Ashley DiPasquale) and sees our titular Hobbit Bilbo, (David Moran) the wizard Gandalf, (Andrew Zuccari) and a ragtag group of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Elliot Fox) hit the highlights of Tolkiens book in it's hour and 40 minute run-time. Book fans will be delighted to watch iconic moments from the book take place before their very eyes including An unexpected Party, Riddles in the Dark, and the Battle of Five Armies.
With colorful costumes, live music, exciting swordplay, and an over the top sense of humor the play is a perfect family show for the Christmas season.
