Holy crap, its been a year! When we sat down at our living room table in early 2017 and joked about opening this gallery we never thought wed come so far so fast! Weve learned so much about what it means to actively break down barriers for our community in the art world and beyond. It has been a humbling and transformative journey, and as we look forward into 2019 we want to invite you to come celebrate with us.
You are formally invited to The Year of Ase (Pronounced ah-shay from the Yoruba philosophical and spiritual concept meaning, to conceive the power to make things happen and produce change.) Hosted by the charming and hilarious Carlos the Rollerblader, with performances by Bouton of The House of Flora, & Guayaba, this will be a celebration with bomb food, raffle prizes and an art auction. Year of Ase, is a gathering of artists, curators, creatives, community leaders/partners, and yes a fundraiser.
We have so much in store for you during 2019 and funds raised during this celebration will allow us to pay more artists and provide sustainable resources for our community. Come party with us and join us in redefining the white cube!
