Kris Deelane
As a key figure in Portlands Next Waltz (a tribute to The Bands final show at San Franciscos Winterland Ballroom in 1976, and filmed by Martin Scorsese) she has graced local stages with the likes of Jenny Conlee-Drizos (Decemberists/Black Prairie), David Jacob-Strain, Ural Thomas (Ural Thomas and The Pain), Joe McMurrian, Christopher Worth (Worth/NIAYH) and Holcomb Waller to name but a few.
Creatively, Kris pulls from a diverse group of influences.
Kris is a talented multi-instrumentalist with drums, bass, guitar, and keys in her musical quiver of arrows. Her early band work includes the Andrew Sisters-meets-B52s mash up Alice, I Wonder, Slaughterhouse 5 (drums), and the LA Ska outfit Timeboy (bass). Life on the road includes a featured vocalist slot on a Soviet Union tour of Fiddler On The Roof and guitar/percussion with reggae legends George Fully Fullwood, Rock Deadrick and Jawge Hughes in the band The Toyes.
