+ Thabisa https://www.thabisamusic.com
Thabisa, a star on the rise born and bred in South Africa and now New Haven based, joins Kinobe & Soul Beat Africa.
Thabisa was raised by her grandparents in the dusty street of Kwazakhele Port Elizabeth. Thabisas love for music began at a young age admiring the likes of Brenda Fassie and singing at church. When her career started to hold shape it was at the knees of the world wide know competition IdolsSA where she made it to the Top 18 nationally. Thabisa has since recorded two albums Eyodidi in 2015 and The Journey 2013. In 2016 Thabisa moved to New Haven with her family and has since performed in various festivals and created opportunities for herself and other musicians locally. This rising star will take off the layers and come bare as she offers stories that resonates close to her heart through her sultry voice and emotional vocals. I will choose songs that move me from my childhood memoirs and move to my original songs and honor my inspiration Mama Miriam Makeba in song. says Thabisa. She will do a set singing in both Xhosa and English with no background music or band, just her vocals and energy.
