Jazz in Bethel continues with Arthur Lipner
Third in the successful Jazz is Back series presented by Bethel Arts.
Arthur Lipner has been performing on vibes and marimba all over the world. He has been invited to Jazz & Percussion festivals in 25 countries including Peru, Malaysia, Croatia, Brazil, Morocco and Australia. Arthur has appeared on over 50 albums. He is the featured journeyman in the hour-long documentary Talking Sticks, a film that film tells the untold story of marimba and vibraphone. Beautiful music, scenery, stories and insights. Dave Anderson is a bass player with over thirty years' experience performing and recording in a wide range of genres. His credits span a range of world class artists in jazz, R&B, pop, folk rock, fusion, world music, and more. His recent work includes associations with Bill Evans (sax), Nelson Rangell, Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Cole, Bob Baldwin, Marion Meadows, Marc Antoine, Chieli Minucci & Special EFX, Smokey Robinson, and others. Past credits include Art Garfunkel, Blood Sweat & Tears, Michael McDonald, Donna Summer, James Ingram, among many.
Thierry Arpino stands atop a family drumming lineage which spans four generations. His career has been punctuated by stints with such notables as Joe Beck, Larry Coryell, Bill Evans and JeanLuc Ponty to name but a few. His ability to contribute with astounding authenticity and ownership in a variety of musical idioms such as jazz, rock, latin jazz, African rhythm, world beat, funk, R&B and pop are why he remains one of the most sought after drummers.
