On Friday, 6/14, some of Boston/Cambridge's best pop-songwriters will be getting together at the Lizard Lounge to pass the old guitar around and revel in the joys of pop music together, round-robin style. Each songwriter will get a chance to play a couple of his songs on the guitar or piano, followed by the next fellow, and so on and so forth, until we run out of jello. We're going to keep things fresh and moving, with a battle royale surprise at the end where all 5 songwriters will play together.
You might know these gentleman from their bands past and present. Corin Ashley is most notably known from the seminal Boston power-pop band the Pills, from a decade ago. He has a now turned the chapter with a renewed solo career. Brian E. King is currently the leader of one of Boston's hottest bands, Parks. Scott Janovitz is known both from his former band Dragstrip Courage and more recently the Russians. Emeen Zarookian is best known as the force behind Spirit Kid. Jonathan Donaldson is the co-leader of the Nimbleines and contributes to the I Want You.
