Association #4 : Olympic Provisions + Andrew Dickson
Association June: 'Dad' Dinner with Olympic Provisions and Andrew Dickson of W+K
June 16, 2013 7pm to 11pm 21+ limited batch of $65 tickets
In March, UNION/PINE, Merit Badge, and Ned Ludd launched 'Association', a new monthly dinner series designed to inspire with an evening of conversation, libations and delicious food. The reception to these gatherings have been great, and we are happy to be hosting number four.
For the June 16th dinner, chef Colin Stafford of NW's Olympic Provisions location will be working with OP owner Nate Tilden (Clyde Common, Spirit of 77) on creating a menu that dear ol' dad would love, complete with charcuterie and BBQ for the meat-eaters, and hearty alternatives for the vegetarians.
Andrew Dickson's talk will likely include a few humorous fatherly tales, and will center around some ideas about unconventional education, something he knows a great deal about from his years as co-director of W+K 12 - Wieden+Kennedy's 'experiment, disguised as a school, disguised as an agency'. Andrew is also a teacher at Portland State, a performance artist, and is the host of Portland's Moth StorySLAM, the local satellite of the NPR storytelling program.
Merit Badge will feature a series of paired drinks with each course, which are included with the $65 ticket. Kir Jensen of The Sugar Cube will be creating the dessert, Commonwealth will be contributing to the decor, and eco florist Hilary Holmes of Emerald Petals will bring a bit of the outdoors in.
July's dinner will be with The Farm and Katrina Scotto Di Carlo of Supportland, and future dinners will feature Justin Lewis of Instrument for August, an exciting ADX partnership in September, and 'dark dinner' with Cyril's in October.
