2-Day Taiko Intensive
"1-ee-and-uh Truffle Hunt"
"Without a doubt, the most important drill I've learned in my taiko career." -- Kris Bergstrom
Designed to shake out the bugs lurking in beginning and intermediate taiko players' stick control and rhythmic understanding, "1-ee-and-uh Truffle Hunt" uses the foundational "1-ee-and-uh Drill" in a variety of configurations to focus on dexterity basics. Learn the 16 hand combinations that underlie the majority of taiko rhythms as well as a systematic approach to uncovering and overcoming your weakest patterns. With before-and-after evaluations, the intensive aims to provide measurable improvement in four technical areas -- stick control, timing, improvisation, and the learning of new rhythms -- and teach a self-sympathetic approach to practice that is uplifting and effective.
Taught by the teachers of LATI.
