Thirty-Three and 1/3: Music from City Lit
On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, City Lit Theater Company will turn 33 1/3 years old. Come join the celebration at "Thirty-Three and 1/3," a live revue of songs from acclaimed City Lit shows over the years. A wide variety of music--from Douglas Post's The Wind in the Willows ("a magical and eclectic score"--Sun-Times), Kingsley Day and Philip LaZebnik's State Street ("LaZebnik's score is better than some new Broadway musicals"--Tribune) and Oh Boy!, City Lit's rediscovered Jerome Kern/P.G. Wodehouse gem from 1918, as well as numbers from three other City Lit musicals--all performed by the actors and singers from the City Lit casts.
The evening begins with a reception and buffet (with cash bar) at 5:30, with the musical entertainment beginning at 7:00. Dessert and a raffle are at 8:00; the raffle prize is a night at Dana Hotel and Spa on State Street and a pair of tickets to Goodman Theatre.
The one-night-only performance of "Thirty-three and 1/3" is at Chicago's historic Cliffdwellers Club at 200 South Michigan Avenue Tickets are $75.00; raffle tickets are $5.00 apiece. Discounted parking is available a block away at Adams and Wabash.
