The 7th Hour Groove Masters
The 7th Hour Groove Masters band is one of the most diverse bands of their time featuring an entertaining mix of seven genres of music perfectly blended. Musical styles include smooth jazz, funk and southern soul, rhythm and blues, pop, classic rock, and country and gospel are performed live to a variety of audiences throughout NC and VA. The range of musical artist featured include; but are not limited to, Frankie Beverly and Maze, The Temptations, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Bill Withers, Gwen McCrae, Marvin Gaye, Brian Culbertson, Marcus Miller, Shania Twain, Fred Hammond and several others.
The band was officially formed in August of 2003 founded by Phil Deans and Michael Duggins as a way to provide quality music for local community events. All seven members add a rich and experienced musical background to the mix. These musicians all have strong backgrounds in gospel and have offered their gifts back to God as they play masterfully as one. They bring many years of prior experience performing professionally in other bands, clubs, colleges, and at various music festivals, charitable events and private functions.
In the past, the 7th Hour Groove Masters have performed at local theatres, at the Golden East Mall and have hosted monthly listening parties in various local restaurants. They have also opened for professional jazz singer Alexis Cole.
The band currently performs regularly in eastern NC, with monthly appearances at Jennie's Beans and Buns coffee lounge in Enfield, NC and The Four Seasons restaurant in Rocky Mount, NC.
