NightSide -- A Night of Irish Music
NightSide does more than perform traditional Irish music they live it. From simply passing the time of an evening to playing for dances and late-night parties, their heroes and mentors connect them to a time when live music was an everyday after-hours activity. NightSide carries the tradition forward with inspired performances and inventive arrangements of Irish dance tunes old and new, played on fiddle, flute, and bagpipes, with guitar or octave mandolin. They bring the music of the past into the present, putting their mark and their attitudeon it along the way. And while best-known for playing lively, foot-stomping dance tunes, for this show you can expect some traditional Irish songs and some stepdancing.
Boston-based NightSide was formed in 2015 and has been playing weekly residencies at local venues. The band was recently featured by Boston.com, on WBURs The ARTery, and the Pindrop Sessions concert series at Aeronaut Brewing Co., and they were a smash hit at New Years Needham 2018.
