Belle Starr Bootcamp at Suburbia
Belle Starr of the Rose City Rollers will be in Yonkers running a weekend bootcamp at Suburbia Roller Derby's summer home, EJ Murray's.
Bootcamp will be coed (men are welcome to participate). Skaters must have WFTDA or USARS insurance.
SCHEDULE:
Saturday, July 20th
9:00am - 10:00am: - Check-in & Warm up
10:00am-11:00am: Basic blocking technique
11am-noon: Intermediate Blocking technique
noon-1:00: lunch break
1:00-2:00pm: Speed manipulation--master class
2:00pm-3:00pm: Effective communication pt. 1 - playing a support role in a pack
3:00-4:00pm: Effective communication pt. 2 - creating and maintaining walls that stay intact when opposing offense looms
Sunday, July 21st
9:00am - 10:00am: Check-in & Warm up
10:00am-11:00am: Point protection--the basics
11am-noon: Point protection--master class
noon-1:00: lunch break
1:00-2:00pm: Effective communication pt. 3 - Wall direction
2:00-3:00pm: Opportunistic Offense
3:00-4:00pm: Prioritizing, speed control--quick reference stead fasts about derby maths
4:00-5:00pm: Effective communication pt. 4. - Empowering everyone to do something productive, so you don't have to do everything yourself!
5:00pm-6:30pm: Q&A and Guided scrimmage

Belle has been playing roller derby for 9 years. She has a long history of success both on and off as a skater, coach and trainer.
