Jazz at Temple Israel presents the Jackie Ryan Quartet
Temple Israel of Greater Miami, with South Florida jazz station WDNA 88.9 FM, will continue its Jazz at Temple Israel Series, featuring the Jackie Ryan Quartet, on Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m. in the Bertha Abess Sanctuary, located on the Temple Israel campus, 137 NE 19th St., Miami.
Jazz vocalist Jackie Ryan will perform with Chuck Bergeron on bass, John Yarling on drums, and Martin Bejerano on piano. Thrilling audiences across the globe with her powerful three-and-a-half octave range and amazing stage presence, Ryan's latest album, Listen Here, recently held the No. 1 spot on theJazzWeek charts. She has sung all over the world, including the famous Ronnie Scott's Club in London (where she was asked to record for their label), Jazz at Lincoln Center and Birdland in New York, and many of the major jazz festivals. Her style ranges from gospel and blues to Brazilian bossa novas, from Latin to bebop, and to the most heartfelt ballads and all in several languages. Ryan's double CD Doozy held the No. 1 position nationwide on JazzWeek's industry-standard chart for seven solid weeks.
