Sole Survivor is the highly anticipated documentary that profiles four people who were the lone survivors of fatal plane crashes, including the tragic 2006 crash of flight Comair 5191 at the Lexington Bluegrass airport.The co-pilot and lone survivor of Comair 5191, First Officer Jim Polehinke, makes his first public appearance in the film. The film puts a face on survivorship and carries a message of hope, triumph and healing.
This is a ONE NIGHT ONLY preview of the film for Kentucky residents, family members and friends impacted by the Comair disaster. The film will screen on Thursday, July 18th at the Kentucky theater in Lexington at 7:30 PM. Members of the filmmaking team will be in humble attendance and will be available to answer questions after the film.
Proceeds from this screening will be donated to various foundations to support the visions and philanthropy of 5191 victims families.
SOLE SURVIVOR was named the Indiewire Project of the Month and was listed by PBS POV as one of the Top Ten most anticipated films of the year in 2012.
SOLE SURVIVOR is the second feature film for Chicago based director, Ky Dickens. Her award-winning first film FISH OUT OF WATER (2009) has been distributed world wide and has screened in over 300 churches, libraries and schools to help eradicate faith-based discrimination against the LGBTQ community.
