Philly Pigeon Charity Slam
The Philly Pigeon has invited four of our favorite poets to compete on behalf of their favorite charities. The winning poet will win $200 for their charity, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place poets will get $100 for their charities. All additional proceeds from the door will go to charity.
The slam will happen at Green South restaurant. Come hungry and thirsty!
Afaq Mahmoud will perform on behalf of galaei, a queer latin@ social justice organization.
Kirwyn Sutherland will perform on behalf of Philadelphia Bail Fund, which helps those who can't make bail get home to their families.
Miriam Harris will perform on behalf of the Attic Youth Center which provides services for LGBTQ young people.
Marques Wright-Lee will perform on behalf of It Takes A Village Foundation which provides school supplies for students in Philadelphia.
