Snaex with Naked Stranger
SNAEX are back in the saddle and this time they've got all the stuff. Drummer and one of the founding members of Cerberus Shoal, Tom Rogers (also with An Evening With) has finally re-joined the fold. Those singing songwriters Chris Teret and Chriss Sutherland along with the amazingly sensitive bassist Tyler Heydolph have welcomed Rogers in order to complete a circular square that was started awhile back. SNAEX continue to know no limits, while aspiring to align themselves with what is always necessary: patience, harmony, and the child's mind. Teret hails from Baltimore, but has called Portland home for over a decade, founded a band called Company. Sutherland, from Maine, originated and maintained such musics as Cerberus Shoal, Fire on Fire, and Olas. Heydolph, raised in Brattleboro, is often seen and heard playing with Mark Tipton. All now reside in the Portland, Maine area.
SNAEX have a new record entitled The Word. Written in punk with ten songs from the outer rim and inner ridge, The Word says a lot (pun intended). With words SNAEX are pushing against the man the best they can with the tools provided. SNAEX, employing winding guitar melodies with wicked bass undersearch and now with the steadiest of drums SNAEX, ride off into the sunset alone and with everyone (including themselves). The Word comes complete with ripping guitar solos, revolutionary Latin America, love, lust, dreams, and that really important daily practice of humans being. NAKED STRANGER (aka Leif Sherman Curtis) Leif Sherman Curtis is a North American musician who has been active since 2001. Primarily a guitarist and songwriter; his work can be found in an eclectic range of groups: OLAS, CONIFER, THE COALSACK IN CRUX, AOK SUICIDE FOREST, MONEYCASTASIA, SHE-LEVEL. His latest release Tenants of the Big House has a broad range of influences spanning the record from Tom Ze, Moon Dog, Luzmilla Carpio, to Michael Gira and the Cocteau Twins.
