Winterlude: A Benefit for OCA featuring Coastal Winds and Coastal Brass
We are pleased to welcome back to our stage two accomplished local chamber ensembles in a benefit concert performance entitled Winterlude. Distinguished oboe player, teacher (and former OCA Board member) Daniel Celidore created this wintertime classical concert treat as a benefit for OCA in 2012, and he will be playing oboe along with Valerie White, flute; Jeff Chan, clarinet; Miranda Kincaid, bassoon, and John Lounsbery, horn in the fine ensemble known as Coastal Winds. They will be joined by pianist Alice Chan for a performance of Mozart Quintet in E Flat Major for Piano, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Horn. Coastal Winds will also perform: Aires Tropicales for Woodwind Quintet by Paquito DRivera.
The second ensemble known as Coastal Brass features Tom Hyde on trumpet, John Lounsbery, horn and Roger Dixon on trombone. Dixon will be the trombone soloist with Sonia Tubridy at the piano for Aria et Polonaise by Joseph Jongen. Their program also includes works by Samuel Scheidt, Francis Poulenc, Zack Smith and Kid Ory.
Please join us for an elegant afternoon of wonderful acoustic chamber music to benefit Occidental Center for the Arts! Admission will be $20 advance, $25 at the door. There will be fine refreshments available, including wine and beer. OCAs Art Gallery will be open for viewing. Wheelchair accessible. 707- 874-9392. www.occidentalcenterforthearts.org.
