Madison Historic Neighborhoods Tour
Madison Historic Neighborhoods Bus Tour: 19th century to Mid-Century.
Visit Madison' s urban neighborhoods from the 1850s to the 1950s, with hosts Anna V. Andrzejewski (UW Professor of Art History and vernacular architecture historian), and Erica Fox Gehrig (architectural historian and Madison Landmarks Commissioner).
See where early Madisonians chose to live and why, and how they migrated from the Isthmus, establishing neighborhoods with the styles and technology of their day.
- Homes from Victorians to Usonians to 1950s "Parade of Homes" houses - Interior tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Jacobs House - Interior tours of historic homes in Third Lake Ridge - Lunch at the Landmark Italian Workmen's Club on Regent St.
Where: Tour will meet and board the bus at the Hamilton Middle School (enter parking lot from the big curve on Segoe Rd.), and return at the conclusion of the tour.
When: Saturday, June 15th, 10:30 am 3:30 pm
How much: $60/$50 MTHP members (includes tour, interior visits, and lunch)
Tour is limited to 51 guests.
