Tables to Woods - Original Plays
Theater Company of Lafayette is pleased to present Tables to Woods, a night of two new plays written by Colorado playwrights, Paul Wells and Brad Rutledge. The two plays are called Wood Smoke and Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Wood Smoke is about an abandoned summer camp in Wisconsin in late November. College professors Jane and Richard unexpectedly find themselves far off the beaten path, driven by their tragic past and foreboding future. However, the couple quickly discovers they are not alone; hiding in the woods is another lost soul, haunted by painful memories. The past and present merge together as the three of them bear witness to each others story, and find some needed comfort and a bit of closure through their shared journey.
Breakfast, Lunch Dinner is told through exactly that, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is shared by an elderly couple, lunch is shared by empty-nesters trying to keep their marriage together and dinner is shared by a pair of twenty-somethings on their second date. Two actors play all of the roles in this funny, bittersweet look at the stages of life and love.
