Fermented Pairings Series Vol. 10 Beyond the Bean
Join us as we explore the rich history of coffee and learn how the aromas and flavors in coffee play with elements in food and beer. White Labs Asheville's Education and Engagement Curator, Jo Doyle has teamed up with Wes Tirey from Pennycup Coffee Co. to create an unforgettable afternoon of educational pairings.
Pairing #1: Winter greens salad with smoked hazelnuts and goat cheese tossed with green coffee bean and pine vinaigrette paired with Mole Blonde ale with WLP007 Dry English Ale Yeast.
Pairing #2: Beets pickled in a light roast coffee vinegar with horseradish crème fraîche paired with Saison with WLP565 Belgian Saison I Yeast and Saison with WLP 566 Belgian Saison II Yeast/WLP644 Saccharomyces bruxellensis Trois Yeast Blend.
Pairing #3: Medium roast coffee rubbed smoked chicken wings paired with Coffee IPA with WLP001 California Ale Yeast.
Pairing #4: Dark roast mocha cheesecake paired with White Labs/Turgua Brewing collaboration Barrel-aged Barleywine with WLP090 San Diego Super Ale Yeast/WLP095 Burlington Ale Yeast Blend.
