Family Drug Support Listening Session
We Invite Family Members Impacted by the Substnce Use of a Loved One To An Open Discussion about the Support They Need and the Resources Available to Them.
What: At this session, New York Harm Reduction Educators (NYHRE)'s staff and attendees will discuss: the needs for family support services and the resources available to family members and people who use drugs, opportunities to be a part of NYHRE offering family drug support programming (including group creation and facilitation) as well as volunteer opportunities. This will be an opportunity to meet people in your community who understand what you are going through and to get the support you need.
When and Where: Saturday, December 15 from 11 to 1pm at New York Harm Reduction Educators Drop In Center at 104 East 126th Street, Suite 1A New York, NY 10035
Who: NYHRE is a 501c3 community-based harm reduction program that improves the quality of life of people who use drugs and who engage in sex work. We offer empowering, stigma-free health promotion to reduce the risks associated with drug use and/or sex work including HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis and overdose. The services we provide include overdose prevention education and naloxone distribution, safer drug use education and Hep C testing, safer sex education and HIV/STI and pregnancy testing, UPRISE peer training program, primary care and mental health services, linkage to HIV/Hep C treatment and medication assisted recovery and treatment, holistic health services, hazardous waste pickup, and support groups.
