2019 FolkWorks Folk/Roots Festival
Much of American roots music and dance derives from the African continent and was brought to the States on slave ships. It is here where the gumbo evolvescombining songs, drumming, banjo and fiddle and dance with European traditions. The result has been everything from old-time Appalachian string band music to jug band music, square, round and tap dancing, blues and rocknroll. Come help us celebrate these traditions.
