RE|dance group's 10th Anniversary Season
RE|dance group's two newest dance works, "The Biggest Wail From The Bottom Of My Heart" and "What Love Looks Like," delve into our reflections on the current state of affairs in our country. We are proud to be using our artistic voices to explore those biases within ourselves and make sense of the world around us. We premiere each of these new works at the beautifully rustic Hamlin Park Fieldhouse Theater.
"The Biggest Wail From the Bottom Of My Heart" reflects the urgency, need, and desire to reject ignorance. The work subtlety calls attention to revolution. Feelings of despair and uncertainty are powerful mechanisms for change. A personal voice is a powerful voice. This work is a call to action, a plea, and a proclamation.
"What Love Looks Like" is a companion piece to "The Biggest Wail From the Bottom Of My Heart". It is what can happen next. After invoking our voices and commanding our presence, being heard and seen empowers us to create and to welcome. "What Love Looks Like" is my image of the future, where the possibility for love, sorrow, and spirited acceptance is made manifest and an idealized lightness prevails.
