NJW Jazz Night for Teens
The Nashville Jazz Workshop Presents Jazz Night for Teens Featuring the Evan Cobb Quintet Saturday, December 8, 2018
The Nashville Jazz Workshop is excited to announce the upcoming event, Jazz Night for Teens! On Saturday, December 8 NJW welcomes teenage musicians and music lovers to The Jazz Cave for two sets of music from the Evan Cobb Quintet. Best of all, thanks to generous donors, this event is completely FREE! (This will also be a fun outlet for students who took their jazz Mid-State audition earlier that day!)
Evan Cobb has become one of Nashville's most in-demand woodwind players. He has performed with myriad ensembles including the Nashville Symphony, the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker, JD Souther, Cage the Elephant, and Aretha Franklin. Also an active educator, Cobb is the director of our own Nashville Jazz Workshop Young Artists Program, and keeps a large studio of private students on the saxophone, oboe, flute, and clarinet. Evan's CD on Ear Up Records, "Hot Chicken," is his second CD as a leader.
Joining Evan will be an all-star group of some of Nashville's finest jazz artists and top recording and touring musicians: Lindsey Miller (guitar), Michael Rojas (piano), Brian Allen (bass), and Wes Little (drums).
There will be two sets beginning at 7pm. Snacks and refreshments will be served free of charge. Free tickets (will-call) are available directly to students on a limited basis. Each student may receive up to two tickets (for themselves and a guest) on a first-come, first served basis.
