IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS! - December 1st
The Holiday Season of 2018 begins December 1st in Napa as the Jarvis Conservatory presents a very special program of songs and arias featuring six outstanding vocalists, an outstanding young cellist, and the world premiere of a new art song "Winter Came" with words by Napa poet Joan Katz. Leading off the program will be two numbers from George Frederick Handel's "The Messiah" sung by Marcelle Dronkers, with Anwen Lin on cello and Music Director Richard B. Evans at the piano. What holiday musical program would be complete without something from that timeless favorite, "The Messiah"? Cellist prodigy Anwen Lin is a senior at Santa Rosa High School, and this is her debut on the Jarvis Conservatory stage. She will also be featured in the cello solo "The Swan" by Camille Saint-Saƫns. This celebratory program of IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS will also feature Napa teacher Amber Marsh singing include "O Holy Night," and opera arias sung by Erica Dori, Ron Dritz, and Elena Yakoubovsky as well as an art song, Claude Debussy's lovely "Beau soir" sung by Ms. Dori. Completing the program with songs from Broadway musicals. The program will conclude with "Winter Came" by Joan Katz and Richard B. Evans, followed by a Holiday sing-along for the audience and the vocal soloists.
These events are regularly hosted by composer Richard B. Evans, Music Director for IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGERS.
